A unique, inspiring and energetic day bringing together community chorus with DEBUT’s Horizon Orchestra and professional soloists to play through an opera in a day before post-workshop celebrations at our pop up bar in Bishopsgate Institute’s Great Hall. This month our Opera in a Day is Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro. Bursting with youthful energy, mistaken identities and revolution.

Are you an emerging singer or instrumentalist looking to develop your skills in opera?

Building on the success of DEBUT’s Artist Development Programme, Horizon Project 2022, we announce DEBUT at Bishopsgate Institute 2023, providing a vital opportunity to bring together:

  • Opera singers to learn key operatic roles in full, working with DEBUT’s Horizon Orchestra

  • Instrumentalists to be a member of DEBUT’s Horizon Orchestra, working on core operatic repertoire alongside top-level singers and under the baton of Benjamin Hamilton

Over the course of 2023 you’ll join DEBUT for 4 day-long opera playthroughs, which span the operatic repertoire providing high-quality opportunities for training, performance and digital content in a dynamic and supportive environment.
